Hemlock Straw Hats

Y’all I LOVE unique finds and I’m for sure a Facebook Ads dream. If it looks cool, I’m clicking haha! I came across an ad for Hemlock Hat Co. A few weeks ago and instantly fell in love with their unique, colorful designs. When I think back to my childhood in Southern California, my dad was always in a straw hat. Whether we were hanging out by the pool or hiking one of the local hills, if it was sunny, he was wearing it. So of course when I came across one that I loved, I had to have it! A Farm Experience

There’s something about the idea of living on a farm that gives me the warm and fuzzies. But the truth is... I could never. I have no clue how to take care of farm animals. Cold hard truth... I can barely take care of my kids and myself. So when we got invited to the Farm Experience for a friends birthday we were excited. To start the Farm Experience is a local gem owned by husband and wife team Kelley and Nick in Palmetto Florida. From the moment you arrive you can tell these animals are loved! We rode horses, cuddled with the most beautiful cow, fed goats and even held chickens. Every Farm Experience is completely customizable. You can milk a cow by hand or even use a milk machine! You can cuddle with the sweetest cow, hug or ride a horse, you can check the chicken coop for eggs or

Sunflower Picking

There’s something about a sunflower that can instantly brighten someone’s day. Insert an entire field and you’ve got pure bliss! I am loving the fact that so many local business are rolling with whatever quarantine is throwing at them rather than rolling over and folding. When Hunsaders Farms announced that they were opening their sunflower fields to the public (safely and in full compliance of social distancing of course) I knew I just had to go! So once Ryann finished her last Zoom call for the day, we were off! The first thing we saw when we arrived, besides the sunflowers of course were BUFFALO! Rye Preserve

School is out and so is all structure for the foreseeable future. Today we were invited by a few friends to explore a place we have never visited, a hidden treasure in our own Florida backyard. The Rye Preserve. Located right off of Rye Road in Manatee County it is about 15 minutes off the interstate with easy access. Upon our arrival I was instantly taken back by the lush trail. We followed the Red Trail back for about a 4 minute walk. To the right it starts to open up and with a slight climb down you enter the motherland! I was immediately transported to a West Virginia mountain creek in my mind. Kennedy loved splashing in the water and Levi loved catching the tadpoles. The creek itself has tons to explore.
